Pratt & Whitney Kalisz (PWK) was established in 1992. Pratt & Whitney Canada is the sole shareholder, a worldwide leader in manufacturing turboprop, turbofan and turboshaft engines for business aircraft, local transportation and helicopters. Pratt & Whitney Kalisz is part of the United Technology Corporation. Currently, PWK employs ca 1500 people. All the time the Company develops dynamically. 97% of the production is exported to Pratt & Whitney Canada.

Pratt & Whitney Kalisz manufactures parts for aircraft engines.

The primary parts manufactured are:

  • carriers,
  • compressor stators,
  • turbine stubshafts,
  • oil pump gears,
  • gearbox accessories,
  • planet gearshafts,
  • couplings,
  • spiral bevel gears,
  • planet gears,
  • ring gears,
  • tubes,
  • main shafts.

The current range of manufactured products comprises over 2000 part numbers and is continuously extended.

The above parts are characterized by top engineering and quality requirements and their production requires the state-of-art machinery fleet, modern and innovative processes and exceptional employee skills.

To ensure its manufacturing needs, Pratt & Whitney Kalisz operates its own Toolroom, which enables designing, manufacturing and regenerating of specialist tooling.

PWK is the world leader and a center of excellence in gears and stators for the aviation industry.

In the quality area PWK holds ISO 9001:2000, AS 9000 certificates. The Company has also implemented the integrated environment and work safety management system in accordance with ISO standards – ISO 14001 and PN-N – 18001.

In order to ensure the top workforce so much necessary in the aviation trade, the Company offers its Employees a unique educational program called “Scholar Program”. Each employee is allowed to purse any course of academic studies at the employer’s expense. Furthermore, the Company covers complete costs of English or French courses for all Employees.

The Company offers an egalitarian Employee Pension Plan run with the Specialist Investment Fund Legg Mason. Joining EPP is voluntary. The basic contribution to EPP equivalent to 5% of the Employee’s total compensation is covered in whole by the Company and transferred to the Employee’s individual EPP account. By participating in the Employee Pension Plan, PWK Employees add to their future pension.

PWK takes advantage of preferential collective insurance with PZU by offering its Employees a possibility to buy an attractive policy under the Collective Life Insurance. The policy guarantees extra free insurance in the event of a serious sickness and in fatal cases 250% of the total insurance value is paid out.

The Company is also proud of its Medical Center, which provides obligatory medical checkup as well as other additional examination and preventive vaccinations.

The Continuous Improvement Program (Achieving Competitive Excellence), implemented in 1996 is an everyday tool used to continuously look for improvement in all Company processes in place. The purpose of the program is to improve quality and efficiency in order to achieve maximum Customer satisfaction.
